lives, it can also destroy almost anything. When
contaminated with certain salts, water can become corrosive.
Underground water can cause serious damage to building
structures. Heavy rainfalls, even cause extensive damages to
the walls, roofs, furnishing and décor.
Waterproofing is our flagship activity and our waterproofing
division has been credited with playing an important role in
safeguarding huge capital investment in the form of
commercial buildings and houses. This has positively
contributed to the quality of life ion Qatar. Every year we
waterproof an average of 700,000 square meters on various
projects in different locations in Qatar.
Based on the regional external conditions such as weather
conditions, nature of the construction materials and other
factors like durability and thermal transparency, we employ
a wide variety of waterproofing materials for our projects.
The waterproofing materials that we specialize in include:
1. Waterproofing Membrane
Waterproofing membranes are manufactured from polymer
bitumen modified with elastomer and plastomers. It is rot
proof and has extremely good elongation and resistance to
heat, aging, piercing and puncture.
2. Protection Boards
Protection boards are used as a permanent protection for
most waterproofing and damp proofing systems. They shield
the waterproofing membrane from a wide variety of impacts
3. Thermal Insulation
In extreme hot climates like Qatar, the high energy demand
for air conditioning requires materials that could minimize
the energy consumption, and keep the temperature low for
maximum periods. The thermal insulation materials that we
employ are renowned for its exceptional mechanical
properties, resistance to water absorption and diffusion,
dimensional stability, high compressive strength, aging
resistance and good resistance against bacteria, pest and
other micro-organism.
4. Separation Layers
Our separation layers belong to world-leading brands like
Typar and Terram and well-known for their outstanding
toughness and durability as well as resistance to rotting,
moisture and chemical attack. They also exhibit high tensile
strength, puncture strength and resistance to loading.
5. Flexible Board
A flexible board is normally used in the roof screed slabs
in expansion joints. It offers the concrete bays with the
flexibility of expanding and contracting during extreme
weather conditions and helps to prevent cracks in concrete
bays.
6. Screeding System
Screeding systems are used for roof slopes and membrane
protection. Polysulphide sealants are used to seal the
concrete joints once the screed is casted in bays as they
exhibit excellent adhesive qualities and good resistance to
most chemicals and multi-weather conditions.
Waterproofing Applications
The most common waterproofing applications are:
1. Foundation- Footing, beams, continuous beams, pile heads,
basement, retaining walls, under the soft foundation, over
the raft foundation etc.
2. Roofs- Concrete roofs, sloping roofs, metal roofs, wooden
roofs, corrugated roofs etc.
3. Wet Areas- Kitchens, bathrooms, toilet floor areas,
balconies etc.
Our Waterproofing Guarantee
We guarantee that our waterproofing systems will retain
their watertight integrity for 5 to 10 years, depending on
the materials used.
If any defect occurs due to the quality of the material used
or workmanship during the specified period, we will repair
it at our expense.
Reporting and Repairs
In the event of unfortunate leakage we will dispatch an
expert inspector to assess the situation and maintenance and
repairs will be undertaken within 48 hours.
